Dr Claire Button appointed CEO

The Board of Mentis Cura has appointed Dr Claire Button as CEO of Mentis Cura, effective from today.
Claire takes over from former CEO Claes Watndal who has been with the company since 2018.
"I am thrilled to be joining Mentis Cura at this pivotal time in the company’s growth and to be working with such an amazing team" says Claire. "Mentis Cura is entering an especially exciting phase as we look set to become a global leader in data-driven healthcare".
Claire brings to Mentis Cura her deep sector knowledge, business and commercial acumen in high-growth life science and healthtech companies and an extensive global network to facilitate Mentis Cura’s transition into the more advanced stages of its life-cycle. In so doing, she is perfectly placed to build on Mentis Cura’s achievements and to drive further growth; building a team to deliver success in this dynamic, competitive sector. Her appointment as CEO ensures Mentis Cura is poised to now accelerate and capitalise on the global, billion-dollar opportunity that is personalised medicine.
Since 2008, after completing her PhD in Immunopharmacology and spending time as a research scientist, Claire has worked with life science and healthtech ventures in leadership, commercial and team-building roles. She co-founded several healthtech ventures, including those in the research tools, remote diagnostic and data-driven fields. Thus, she understands the value of data-driven platforms and the power AI can bring to healthcare. She also has significant experience working with early stage, high-growth businesses and their investors; partnering with them from the seed-fund stage, on to series A onwards, through to exit and beyond.
Claire is engaged and highly active in many initiatives to encourage and support the global healthtech sector. She participates in programmes at The Francis Crick Institute and at European and Asian Venture Camps, bringing commercial perspectives to healthtech ventures. She’s a mentor and advisory panel member of the GapSummit Voices of Tomorrow, supports the work of AWiSE for women in STEM industries, is a member of the Tech London Advocates Health Working Group, sits on the Advisory Board of Cambridge Innovation Academy and is a Fellow of the RSA.
We welcome Claire to the team!
